What you should know
Huge talons, but it can only carry about 3 to 5 pounds and it is extremely nervous around people. It is not flying off with anybody's dog.

Florida has more nesting bald eagles than almost any other state in the country.
Staying safe around it
Treat it with respect, keep your distance, and tell a grown-up if you see one up close.
Always ask a grown-up before you touch any animal or plant. If something bites or stings you, tell an adult right away.
