What you should know
Florida wildlife officials say it has the strongest venom of any snake in North America. Red bands touch yellow bands. It is shy and bites almost never happen.

It is so shy that most bites happen only when somebody picks one up on purpose. So do not do that.
Staying safe around it
This one is venomous, which means it can put venom into you with a bite or a sting. Never touch it, and never try to move it yourself.
Always ask a grown-up before you touch any animal or plant. If something bites or stings you, tell an adult right away.
