What you should know
The biggest venomous snake in North America. It rattles to warn you, which is honestly polite of it. Give it room and it will not come after you.

The rattle is made of the same stuff as your fingernails, and it adds a new piece every time the snake sheds its skin.

This one is venomous, which means it can put venom into you with a bite or a sting. Never touch it, and never try to move it yourself.
Always ask a grown-up before you touch any animal or plant. If something bites or stings you, tell an adult right away.
