Ailurus fulgens

Red pandas are fluffy, cat-sized animals that live in cool mountain forests in Asia, spending most of their time in trees and munching on bamboo and berries. They are shy and usually run away from people, but they can scratch or bite if they feel trapped or scared, so never try to touch one in the wild.
Red pandas were discovered and named about 50 years before giant pandas, so technically the giant panda borrowed its name from them!
Treat it with respect, keep your distance, and tell a grown-up if you see one up close.
Always ask a grown-up before you touch any animal or plant. If something bites or stings you, tell an adult right away.
